Ivon Wilson Park is a peaceful, open 35 hectare park with both introduced and native trees and great views of the Fiordland Mountains. It's a great place for families to visit with extensive plantings and many marked trails leading to the picturesque Lake Henry which is stocked with rainbow and brown trout as a children's fishery.

Te Anau Bird Sanctuary
The Te Anau Bird Sanctuary (Punanga Manu o Te Anau) is set on the shores of Lake Te Anau. It is open from dawn to dusk and can cater for guided tours if booked in advance through the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre. Entry is free, but a gold coin donation is appreciated. The park is a great family friendly place to visit, allowing you to take a peek at some of New Zealand"s special birds that are difficult to see in the wild.
